SPECIFICS OF UNDERSTANDING THE PSYCHE IN ITS DEPTH

Abstract

The article presents the method of Active Socio-Psychological Cognition (ASPC) in its capacity to objectify the impact of humanity’s archaic heritage on the psyche of modern individuals. The study relies on the functional optimality of the group method “Active Socio-Psychological Cognition of the Psyche,” initiated by T. S. Yatsenko in the 1980s and successfully developed in Ukraine for over half a century. The content highlights the key principles of Yatsenko’s psychodynamic paradigm, grounded in numerous research works, including 49 defended dissertations of her students. The psychoanalytic approach to understanding the psyche, continuously studied and refined, confirms the effectiveness of group forms of deep cognition, including the dimension of the archaic legacy.ASPC is distinguished by its ability to catalyze manifestations of this legacy into the field of observation. Under such conditions, thematic drawings gain greater significance, supported by an empirical platform of thematic visualization. This objectification of the psyche promotes its adequate comprehension and introduces a novel, visualized mode of conveying its content beyond the limits of verbal expression. The study proves the effectiveness of thematic psychodrawings in ASPC group practice for the exploration of the subject’s psyche. It is argued that psychodrawings reveal the preverbal stage of human psychic development. Furthermore, ASPC demonstrates the potential to substantially enhance psychologists’ professional qualifications through direct involvement in group psychocorrectional practice.
