CREATIVITY AS A RESOURCE POTENTIAL OF PERSONALITY IN ADULTHOOD

The article explores creativity as an essential resource potential of personality in adulthood, gaining particular relevance in the context of self-realization, adaptation to change, and the maintenance of psychological well-being.Creativity is conceptualized not merely as the ability to produce novel outcomes but as an integrative personal quality encompassing cognitive, emotional-volitional, motivational, and value-meaning components. The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical analysis of creativity as a factor in the development of adult self-sufficiency, to identify its structural components, internal dynamics, and functional role. The study presents an interdisciplinary overview of approaches to understanding creativity as a psychological resource, particularly within the frameworks of humanistic psychology, subject-activity theory, life-span development, and existential psychology. Special attention is given to the works of A. Maslow, C. Rogers, M. Csikszentmihalyi, T. Amabile, R. Sternberg, as well as Ukrainian scholars such as N.M. Huzik, S.D. Maksymenko, T.S. Yatsenko, N.V. Chepeleva, I.A. Zyazyun, and O.L. Kupreichenko. The phenomenon of “flow” is emphasized as a manifestation of deep intrinsic motivation that supports meaning-making, subjectivity, and psychological resilience. It is shown that in adulthood, creativity is transformed into a capacity for reinterpreting experience, reflection, responsible decision-making, and constructing new life strategies.The article’s findings may be applied in educational, therapeutic, and training contexts and serve as a foundation for future empirical research into the development of adult personal potential.
