CLINICAL APPROACH TO THE DIAGNOSIS AND CORRECTION OF ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORAL PATTERNS

The article examines the phenomenon of addictive behavior as a complex psychological formation that develops as a result of impaired emotional regulation, reduced stress tolerance, deformation of the personality structure, and social maladaptation in the context of increasing psychosocial tension. Theoretical foundations for understanding addiction are analyzed as a multi-level clinical and psychological phenomenon that combines the effects of neuropsychological, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic mechanisms. The paper outlines conceptual approaches that interpret dependent behavior as a way of avoiding internal conflicts and compensating for disrupted processes of affective regulation and personality integration. The main stages of clinical diagnostics of addictive behavior are identified, which involve a comprehensive assessment of the type of addiction, the personality structure, the level of functioning of the social environment, the presence of comorbid symptoms, and the client’s motivational sphere. Special attention is given to the individualization of psychocorrectional interventions through the combination of cognitive-behavioral, emotional-imagery, art therapy, and social training methods. The expediency of multidisciplinary cooperation among specialists during diagnostic assessment and the development of a comprehensive therapeutic program is emphasized. It is demonstrated that the integration of psychotherapeutic interventions contributes to the restoration of affective regulation, increased self-control, and the development of constructive social skills in individuals with persistent addiction. The necessity of shifting from narrow symptomatic treatment to structural work with elements of inner experience underlying addictive behavior is substantiated. The role of a comprehensive clinical approach is highlighted as an effective model for the diagnosis and correction of dependent behavioral patterns under modern conditions of psychosocial instability.
