ANALYTICAL RESEARCH ON THE ATTITUDES AND PERCEPTIONS OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE AUSTRIAN AND UKRAINIAN COMMUNITIES REGARDING THE MENTAL EXPERIENCE OF WARS

Abstract

The article analyzes the vision of transgenerational trauma, which involves the transfer of the consequences of trauma from the generation of people who received them to the next generations through the transformation of worldview, phenomena of attitude to life and ideas about life prospects. It is noted that the most common psychological consequences of transgenerational trauma are changes in worldview, values, attitudes, attitudes towards oneself and others. It is noted that in the context of military aggression, the destruction of the usual way of life, human losses and suffering, the issue of attitudes towards the psychological consequences of war of the past and present and the perception of these events among different peoples of the world, who are either active observers or participants in the events, is extremely relevant. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is based on domestic and foreign scientific works on the study of the psychological consequences of wars (G. Katolyk, A. Shatalova, V. Stancyshyn, C. Myers, V. Rivers, A. Cardiner, R. Grinker, J. Spiegel, U. Manninger, U. Bion, J. Crystal and others). An empirical study of the analysis of attitudes and perceptions of the psychological consequences of the war of the past and present is proposed (analysis of psychological perceptions based on the mental experience of wars by representatives of the Austrian and Ukrainian communities). The analysis of the responses in the groups of Austrian and Ukrainian respondents shows that they associate war with disgust, atrocities, and deep hatred.Their reflections indicate helplessness, loss of hope, and disappointment in world politics. The study resulted in a hypothetical model “Structural Mechanisms of Attitudes and Perceptions in the Context of Human Relations with War”, which demonstrates that the impact of war on a person begins with the mobilization of internal resources, continues with an emotional response to events, and ends with the formation of new values and beliefs.
