PSYCHOLOGIST'S WORK WITH PARENTS RAISING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS IN WARTIME

Abstract

The article considers the impact of the current conditions of martial law in Ukraine on the emotional state ofparents raising children with special educational needs. It is noted that the realities of today are characterized by the instability of the security situation and a high level of influence of stressful situations of various kinds on the emotional state of a person. The difficulties faced by parents to ensure everyday, familiar living conditions,upbringing and education of children with special educational needs are highlighted. The concept of ‘specialeducational needs’ is analyzed. The possible emotional state of children with SEN who are in a constant state of stress is described. The importance of diagnosing the emotional state of parents raising children with SEN is emphasized.The purpose of the article is to study the priority of a psychologist's work with parents raising children with special educational needs in the context of providing high-quality, timely psychological support to all family members, which will contribute to the development and well-being of children in wartime.Results. The study used an integrated approach that includes a comprehensive and thorough analysis ofpsychological and pedagogical literature: studying scientific articles, monographs, manuals and other scientific sources that cover the selected issues. Empirical methods were used, namely: observation, survey, testing andinterpretation of the results The study revealed the levels of indicators of the functional state of parents and possiblecauses of emotional burnout and emotional instability. Based on the collected and analyzed scientific material, examples of developed exercises and technologies for providing effective psychological assistance to parents who are experiencing emotional difficulties while raising children with special educational needs were selected.As a result of the study and the data obtained, conclusions have been drawn about the importance of providing psychological assistance to parents raising children with special educational needs in wartime. The work of apractical psychologist is to teach family members of children with SEN the knowledge of self-help in times of crisisand help for children who are experiencing stress.
