Psychological Services in Educational Institutions as a Key Component of Supporting Students’ Mental Health During Wartime

Abstract

This article investigates the role of psychological services in educational institutions as a key component in supporting students’ mental health during wartime. The psychological service plays a crucial role in providing emotional support, prevention, crisis intervention, and family support for students. Particular attention is given to the challenges that arise during wartime, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and social isolation among youth. Military actions and social instability create additional pressure on students, affecting their emotional state and academic performance. The methods used by the psychological service to support mental health include therapeutic sessions, relaxation techniques, psychoeducation, and the organization of peer support groups. Informing and involving parents in the process of supporting students’ mental health is an important aspect of the service's work. The article also explores the prospects for the development of psychological services, including the use of online consultations, mobile applications for self-regulation, and collaboration with international organizations to improve the effectiveness of psychological support. The author emphasizes the importance of innovative approaches and technologies that allow access to psychological support even in remote regions. Interactive training and remote assistance engage students and improve their emotional state. The conclusion of the article highlights the necessity of supporting and developing psychological services in educational institutions to ensure students' mental health during wartime, which is critically important for their well-being and academic success. Moreover, the article underscores the potential for integrating modern technologies, such as online platforms for video consultations and mobile apps, to provide continuous support.
