Significance of marital and family values in the formation of personality during early adulthood

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the problem of the formation of marriage and family values in individuals in early adulthood. The values of family life are an integrated formation that includes positive motivation to create a family, the development of family qualities, empathetic qualities that allow understanding a partner and creating constructive behavior in relationships. Family values are a set of ideas that influence the choice of family life organization, ways of life and interaction that are approved or cultivated in the family environment. According to the results of the psychodiagnostic methods, when analyzing data on life value scales, the dominance of such values as self-development, spiritual satisfaction and own prestige was determined. The data obtained indicate that the system of values in the group of subjects is sufficiently developed, which confirms the positive trends in the formation of personality, maturity and readiness of young people for family life. Based on the analysis of the results of the study using the “Role Expectations and Demands” method, it can be noted that indicators of personal identity, a certain commonality of interests, and support in the family are important for the successful construction of marital relations, which is confirmed by high indicators on the emotionalpsychotherapeutic scale. The economic and domestic sphere is significant in family life, which is oriented towards high expectations in this area of building family relations. Based on the research conducted on the topic of the problem of marital and family values, it is possible to explain the mechanisms of influence on the formation of the personality of young people and develop recommendations to help adapt to the new socio-economic situation.
