THE IMPACT OF THE PROCESSES OF SELF-CHANGE ON THE ACHIEVEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS BY SPECIALISTS IN THE FIELD OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The article reveals the key aspects of the specialists’ self-change study in the field of information technologies. The sample includes the number of respondents who lived in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Kropyvnytskyi, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Poltava. Generally, 394 respondents working in IT organizations were interviewed, among them 286 men and 108 women aged 20 to 52. The study was conducted from March 2023 to June 2024 in 20 organizations in the field of information technologies. As result of the research conducted using the method “Diagnostics of social and psychological adaptation” method (authors: K. Rogers, R. Diamond), no respondents with high level of social adaptation were found. At the same time, the average level of social adaptability makes up most of the entire group. Currently, there is small percentage of group respondents who demonstrated low level of social adaptability. The reasons for such low level include, first of all, a change in the environment, specifics of work, low self-esteem, self-doubt, psychophysiological age-related changes, etc. The results of the method according to the Scale of negative impact of work (author D. Watson) showed indicators at low, lower than average, average, higher than average levels. A high level of negative work impact was not found among the respondents. This is favorable for the organization of the IT sector. According to the “Index of Organizational Tension” method (authors: R. Kahn, D. Wolf), the average indicator of organizational tension was established. In general, women in the organization experience more tension, anxiety, and perturbation. They express some dissatisfaction with work more often than men. The overall sample average organizational tension is 241. It is at an average level. Based on the results of the conducted research analysis, we have developed general recommendations. The prospect of further research is well-grounded study of the specialists’ self-change in the IT sector for the formation of socially prosperous citizens.
