Abstract

Special attention is paid to examining the fundamental principles of schema therapy, including the concept of early maladaptive schemas, and its main techniques – cognitive, experiential, behavioral, and interpersonal. Based on theoretical analysis and empirical research, the rationale for integrating CBT and schema therapy methods for gender bias correction is established. A three-level correction model is proposed, including: the automatic thoughts level (implemented through CBT methodology), the core beliefs level (processed through schema therapy methods), and integrative techniques. A specific set of therapeutic techniques is defined for each level, providing comprehensive influence on various aspects of gender biases. The model provides a systematic and phased approach: from awareness and identification of gender biases through psychoeducation and cognitive techniques to deep work with early schemas and traumatic experiences, and further to the integration of new experiences and formation of adaptive behavioral patterns. The proposed comprehensive model ensures not only the correction of superficial manifestations of gender biases but also the transformation of the deep mechanisms of their formation and maintenance. The integration of cognitive behavioral and schema therapy techniques creates a synergistic effect, enhancing the effectiveness of therapeutic intervention and ensuring the sustainability of achieved changes. The research results can be utilized in the practical work of psychologists and psychotherapists dealing with gender biases, as well as in the development of educational programs for overcoming gender discrimination.
