Abstract

The article examines the problem of the sense of justice in modern scientific discourse, particularly its socio-psychological dimension. In conditions of social instability and societal transformations, issues of rights, equality, and responsibility acquire special significance. The article analyzes philosophical concepts of justice, where it is understood as an ethical virtue and a normative principle of social interactions, as well as psychological approaches to moral development of the individual, emphasizing the cognitive and emotional components of the sense of justice. Special attention is paid to socio-psychological theories, which define the sense of justice as a stable disposition encompassing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects, regulating the evaluation of actions and norms, stimulating prosocial behavior, and guiding the moral choices of individuals. Methods of theoretical analysis, synthesis, and content analysis were used to systematize approaches to the phenomenon of justice. It is shown that the sense of justice is formed through the internalization of moral norms and values, integrates into the individual’s value system, and functions as an internal regulator of social behavior, ensuring that actions and evaluations align with norms of honesty, equality, mutual respect, and social responsibility. The role of the sense of justice in forming interpersonal relationships, social trust, and moral engagement of individuals is emphasized, contributing to social harmony and a just societal order. The importance of the sense of justice as a fundamental psychological category is highlighted, uniting knowledge, values, emotional experiences, and behavioral manifestations of individuals in contemporary society.
