PREVENTION OF SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR AMONG MILITARY PERSONNEL OF THE NATIONAL GUARD OF UKRAINE IN COMBAT CONDITIONS

The article examines the problem of preventing suicidal behavior among servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine in combat conditions. It analyzes contemporary scientific approaches to understanding suicidal behavior as a multidimensional socio-psychological phenomenon shaped by the prolonged psychotraumatic impact of combat operations, high levels of stress, physical and moral exhaustion, limited access to psychological assistance, and a culture of emotional restraint. Key risk factors have been identified, including psycho-emotional disorders, depressive and anxious states, aggression, withdrawal, tendency to isolation, family and professional conflicts, negative moral and psychological climate of the unit, excessive workload, and lack of conditions for psycho-emotional recovery.
The specifics of suicidal behavior in the military environment are considered separately, in particular, the combination of high external discipline and professional composure with internal emotional tension, which complicates the timely identification of risk groups. Effective prevention measures are analyzed, including individual psychological work, psychodiagnostic assessment and early detection of crisis situations, organizational and managerial measures, ensuring a rational service regime, rotation and restoration of psycho-emotional resources, as well as systematic interaction between commanders and military psychologists.
The scientific novelty of the work lies in the comprehensive systematization of psycho-emotional, socio-psychological, and organizational factors of suicidal risk and the justification of preventive measures adapted to the conditions of modern warfare. The practical significance of the research is manifested in the possibility of using the results to improve the system of psychological support for units, strengthen the moral and psychological resilience of military personnel, minimize non-combat losses, and increase the effectiveness of combat missions.
