VERBALIZATION OF PROSODIC MEANS OF COMMUNICATION IN THE DRAMATIC TEXT OF BUKOVINIAN WRITERS

The article considers a dramatic text as a two-level formation, forming a unity of verbal (cue) and non-verbal (remark) communication; a complex semiotic unit, the polyphony of which is formed by the author's and the character's speech. A structural unit of non-verbal communication in a dramatic text is a remark that helps to visualize what has been read – it describes the place and time of the action, defines the mise-en-scene, adds touches to the image of the character, reveals the essence of the author's vision of a particular scene. The structural units of dramatic verbal communication have a complex hierarchical character: the primary unit is a recitation or monologue the secondary units are dialogue and polylogue.Taking into account the intonation of speech, which is a manifestation of the speaker's emotional and volitional attitude towards the subject of speech and the listener, the author distinguishes speech utterances that reflect the prosodic components of communication in a dramatic text – important elements that determine the intonation of speech, the creation of atmosphere, the character of the characters and the rhythmic structure of utterances. They play a key role in the expressiveness of dialogue and dramatic action. Attention is paid to prosodic remarks that reflect the intonation of the character's speech, emphasize the meaning of words or create tension, indicate the pace of speech (fast, slow), differentiate emotional situations and help to create an appropriate character image.The prosodic means are used through adverbs, prepositional and case constructions, verbal units, etc. The article analyses the prosodic components that testify to the solemn, official tone of pathetic, pathetic speech and also emphasize the quasi-conversational nature of the theatrical performance.The source of the study is dialogic and monologue fragments from dramatic texts by Bukovinian writers (Y.Fedkovych, S. Vorobkevych, S. Yarychevsky, I. Syniuk), whose dramatic achievements are an indicator of the development of culture in Bukovyna in the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
