NAMES OF UKRAINIAN EMBROIDERED PATTERN: LEXICAL-SEMANTIC ASPECT AND STRUCTURAL ASPECT

The article is devoted to the linguistic analysis of the names of material objects of Ukrainian reality – pragmonyms.The material for the study was the names of Ukrainian embroidery, collected by the method of continuous sampling.The aim of the work was to identify the specifics of the linguistic presentation of the studied names, in particular their lexical-semantic and structural analysis. The issue of the terminology of proper names for the designation of objects of the material sphere of human activity is raised. The study of the semantics of the creative bases made it possible to find out that the basis of the names are proper names (29%) and appellatives. Among them are anthroponyms (personal names and surnames), toponyms (oikonyms, names of ethnic regions, administrative- territorial organization of Ukraine, oronyms and hydronyms), ethnonyms, theonyms, mythonyms, astronyms, names of dances and ideonyms. Proper personal names and toponyms are most fully represented. The first are represented by male and female names mainly in the official form and their structural (truncated, truncated-suffixal and suffixal) variants. A significant part of the nominal pragmonyms is made up of Slavic (composite and derivative variants thereof) and Ukrainian names themselves. Pragmonyms of appellative origin include the naming of 15 semantic groups: names of plants, animals, objects, cosmic phenomena, processes, social groups, abstract concepts, natural phenomena, holidays, signs, time periods, characteristics of persons, spatial names, scientific terms. The first group is most fully represented. The studied pragmonyms trace a carefully selected vocabulary: words of patriotic themes, with a distinctive national flavor, terminological and dialect vocabulary.In terms of structure, the studied modern Ukrainian pragmonyms are most often single-syllable names (≈66%), two-syllable and multi-syllable compounds. We see prospects for further research in the study of the motivational and linguocultural aspects of pragmonyms-names of Ukrainian embroidered clothes.
