Abstract

The proposed scientific article aims to investigate the emergence and development of neologisms that appeared in the Ukrainian language as a result of Russian aggression, starting from 2014. The work analyzes how military events affect language changes, causing the emergence of new words and expressions. Special attention is paid to neologisms reflecting new realities and emotional states of the people during the conflict. The study used a rich corpus of media texts, social networks and public speeches to collect data. An important aspect of the analysis is the impact of the war on the lexicon, both in the Ukrainian and international contexts. The process of creating neologisms is considered through the prism of social changes caused by the conflict and the specifics of their use in public discourse. The study focuses on slang terms that have gained special meaning and use in the context of war. Considerable attention was paid to changing the meanings of existing words, which acquired a new, specific meaning during the war. The work highlights the emergence of new toponyms, examples of neologisms are given. It is important to study the creativity of language during the war, which is reflected in new idioms and word combinations. The work emphasizes the role of language as a means of national unity and strength in difficult times of military conflict. In addition, the study emphasizes the importance of language as a tool of cultural and historical memory, capable of mobilizing society and stimulating national resistance. The conclusions of the work emphasize that neologisms not only serve to denote new phenomena, but also contribute to the formation of group identity and common cultural codes, which are critically important in times of crisis.
