REPRESENTATION OF THE LEXEME SHTUKAR IN UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE (BASED ON MATERIAL FROM LITERARY TEXTS)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the meaning of the lexeme shtukar in the Ukrainian language, with clarification of its lexical and functional characteristics. The purpose of the research there is an identification of the peculiarities of the functioning of the lexeme in the Ukrainian and translated literary texts, which reflects the specifics cultural and historical contexts of the fiction. The source base is literary texts by Ukrainian authors (I. Franko, I Nechuy-Levytskyi, M. Kropyvnytskyi, V. Vynnychenko, V. Shklyar, Y. Andruhovych, A. Kokotukha, etc.) and translated texts (J. Verne, E. Hoffmann, A. Lindgren, M. Cervantes, G. Martin, etc.) recorded in the General Regional Annotated Corpus of the Ukrainian Language. In the process of analysis, it was found that the lexeme shtukar has a high frequency of fixation in literary texts and is mostly used to denote «the person-prankster, magician». The semantic structure of the analyzed lexeme is determined not only by the subject-conceptual correlation of the sound complex, but also by its expressive component, stylistic characteristics, word-forming connections. It was determined that the stylistic potential of the lexeme shtukar is revealed in its interaction with other units of analyzed texts. The use of the lexeme in the text helps to increase expression, convey emotional tension, dramatize situations, and create an ironic effect. It functions in direct and figurative meanings, which deepens the artistic imagery of the analyzed texts. The study of the functioning of specifically Ukrainian lexemes in the Ukrainian language deepens knowledge about the Ukrainian vocabulary itself, expands the vocabulary of modern speakers. The use of a corpus approach ensures the representativeness of the material and the objectivity of the conclusions.
