LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT OF GERECHTIGKEIT THROUGH WOMEN’S PERSPECTIVE IN THE INTERACTION BETWEEN PERSONAL AND POLITICAL DISCOURSES, AND THE TRANSLATION OF KEY SOCIOPOLITICAL REALIA

Abstract

The article examines the linguistic representation of the concept GERECHTIGKEIT in the interaction of personal and political discourses based on the material of Viktoriia Amelina’s book Blick auf Frauen. Den Krieg im Blick. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing scholarly interest in war discourse and the need to reconsider moral and legal categories in the linguistic representation of contemporary war. The concept GERECHTIGKEIT is analyzed as a key cognitive unit that integrates legal, moral, and cultural meanings within the discourse of war. The aim of the article is to analyze the linguistic realization of this concept in the interaction of personal and political discourses and to investigate the translation of Ukrainian socio-political realia in the German-language text. The methodological framework of the research combines the cognitive-discursive approach with discourse analysis, lexical-semantic and contextual-interpretive methods, as well as translation analysis. The study demonstrates that in political discourse the concept GERECHTIGKEIT functions primarily as an institutional and legal category associated with international law, responsibility for war crimes, and mechanisms of justice. In personal narratives, however, the concept acquires an emotional and moral dimension and reflects the individual experience of war, including the search for justice, the preservation of memory, and the moral interpretation of traumatic events. Particular attention is paid to the translation aspect of the study. The analysis shows that Ukrainian socio-political realia in the German-language text are primarily rendered through transliteration, transcription, calque, and partial calque. These translation techniques help preserve the national and cultural specificity as well as the discursive meaning of the realia in intercultural communication. The findings confirm the multidimensional nature of the concept GERECHTIGKEIT and its important role in shaping the semantic structure of contemporary war discourse.
