The article examines manipulative strategies employed in contemporary media discourse, as well as the challenges of reproducing them in the translation process. Particular attention is given to the analysis of linguistic mechanisms that influence audience perception and behavior, as well as ways of shaping the emotional and cognitive understanding of information. The study explores various linguistic tactics used by the media to create desired narratives, guide public opinion, and stimulate specific audience behaviors. The classification of major manipulative strategies is highlighted, including modification of illocutionary force, group identification, positive and negative positioning, verbal ultimatum, immunization of statements, and others. Special focus is given to the translation of media texts: preserving their manipulative effect, accurately conveying evaluative, emotional, and implicit components, and employing translation transformations to compensate cultural and linguistic differences between the source and target languages. Practical examples are drawn from Englishlanguage media texts, where manipulativeness is realized through emotionally charged vocabulary, metaphors, idioms, and evaluative expressions. The study emphasizes the importance of understanding the mechanisms of linguistic manipulation for the accurate and effective reproduction of the implicit meaning of the original text. This enables translators to maintain the influential potential of media texts and ensure that the target audience perceives them as closely as possible to the author’s intent. Language manipulation is one of the key areas of contemporary research. Its study allows for a deeper understanding of the mechanisms that influence human consciousness and behavior, as well as an analysis of the ways public opinion is shaped and audiences are persuaded through linguistic means. Awareness of these mechanisms enables individuals to critically evaluate the information they receive, protect themselves from unwanted or hidden influence, and make more balanced decisions in everyday life, as well as in political and social contexts. Furthermore, understanding the strategies and tactics of language manipulation has significant practical value for translators, journalists, advertisers, and media professionals, as the effectiveness of communication and the impact of texts on the target audience depend on the accurate reproduction of these elements.
