PECULIARITIES OF POETICS OF UKRAINIAN MYSTICAL PROSE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the main features of the poetics of Ukrainian mystical prose. This allows us not only to understand the artistic techniques of Ukrainian authors of mystical fiction, but also to more deeply reveal the cultural-historical, philosophical, and psychological aspects of the works. A detailed analysis of this problem will help to fill the gaps in literary science regarding the specifics of Ukrainian mystical prose. That is why the problem of researching the peculiarities of the poetics of Ukrainian mystical prose still remains relevant for modern Ukrainian literary studies. The main goal of the research is to outline the characteristic genre and stylistic features of Ukrainian mystical fiction, to determine the artistic techniques, specifics, and functions of mystical elements. The realization of the set goal involves the solution of the following tasks: to define the main theoretical concepts – mysticism, symbolism, archetypes; to outline the historical origins and traditions of the development of mystical prose in Ukrainian literature; to research the poetic devices used in the texts (symbols, metaphors, allegories, folkloric motifs, etc.); to understand the archetypes and symbols that are key to Ukrainian mystical prose; to find out how the archetypes and symbols reflect the cultural and spiritual values of the Ukrainian people. In the process of fulfilling the tasks set, the following scientific research methods were used: theoretical method – analysis and understanding of scientific works devoted to the topic of mysticism in fiction, with the aim of systematizing and generalizing knowledge; cultural-historical method – outlining the historical and cultural context of writing mystical prose; psychoanalytic method – the application of psychological concepts to analyze symbolism, archetypes, and mystical motifs in texts; hermeneutic method – interpretation of texts to reveal hidden meanings, symbols, archetypes and religious and mythological motifs; folklore-ethnographic method – analysis of folklore elements in texts (images, myths, rituals) to understand their semantic meaning and functions.
