LANGUAGE CREATIVITY IN MODERN UKRAINIAN AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION FOR CHILDREN: BASED ON THE ANIMATED FILM «MAVKA. THE FOREST SONG»

Abstract

The article studies the specifics of the manifestation of language creativity in modern Ukrainian audiovisual production for children based on the animated film «Mavka. The Forest Song». The relevance of the proposed research is determined by the fact that animated films, thanks to bright dialogues, humor, and original expressions, can develop a positive attitude towards one’s native language in children, preserving national culture and identity, and the animated film «Mavka. The Forest Song» is a vivid example of such an approach, being the effective tool for popularizing the Ukrainian language and mythology among young people. The aim of the research is to identify key aspects of language creativity in modern Ukrainian audiovisual production for children based on the animated film «Mavka. The Forest Song». In accordance with the aim, the following research objectives have been outlined: 1) to define the concept of an animated film and provide a general characteristic of this type of production; 2) to explore the concept of language creativity and the possibilities of its manifestation in artistic texts; 3) to analyze the main techniques of language creativity in animated film «Mavka. The Forest Song». The research demonstrates that animated films, due to their ability to attract different age groups, perform not only entertaining function but also cultural and educational ones. They reveal language creativity through metaphors, jargon, and humor, which contributes to the development of children’s speech, conveying cultural values and language norms. Language creativity in animation enriches the linguistic arsenal and shapes the characters’ images through new linguistic constructions and strategies. The animated film «Mavka. The Forest Song» became an important cultural phenomenon combining Ukrainian motifs with innovative linguistic solutions. Language creativity in the animated film «Mavka. The Forest Song» is realized through rethinking and modification of traditional idioms, creation of occasionalisms, and use of slang allowing to convey the atmosphere of a mythical world and at the same time to preserve the living, colloquial Ukrainian language, close to the modern viewer.
