CONSTRUCTING THE IMAGE OF THE WORLD IN GRETA TUNBERG'S OPEN SPEECHES

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of defining and comparing the picture of the world and the image of the world. The author emphasizes the modeling of the image of the world based on the open speeches of Greta Thunberg, as well as an attempt to theoretically substantiate and define the category of "image of the world". In order to consider in more detail what exactly is the image of the world and what factors affect its perception by different linguistic cultures, we consider it necessary to pay attention to the historical origins of this concept. The author pays attention to the development of the categories "picture of the world" and "image of the world" as such. The aim of the article is to try to provide a theoretical basis for the category of "image of the world" on the speech of Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, as well as to depict schematically how the worldview of the individual. Research conducted within the framework of general psychological theory of activity in relation to the category of the image of the world has led to the fact that the concept of "image of the world" can not be equated with "linguistic picture of the world" and "naive picture of the world". Concluding, we can assume that the image of the world is a dynamic phenomenon that affects the image of the world of a man. Based on the speech of Greta Thunberg, we can note the fact that before her loud speech, society was not so excited about climate change. However, after her emotional speech, the world reacted quite briskly, resulting in the emergence of currents, eco-organizations, fan clubs, support from top officials and celebrities around the world. Thus, we consider it necessary to note that the image of the world is based on the principle of perception of an ethnic group (which is static), which includes individuals of this ethnic group, who, in turn, perceive the world in terms of its global (social, cultural, political, environmental, etc.) changes. Thus, as we see, any event is somehow reflected in the worldview of the individual who forms the image of the world. Concluding, it should be noted that in the future it is possible to identify the most important extralinguistic factors that will be the "driving force" in shaping the image of the world.
