One of the current issues of modern syntax is the study features of the use and functioning of inserted structures, namely, of the inserted text as one of the representatives of the modality category, which according to its specifics, it is the most directed to the field of speech. The study of such an inserted component from the point of view of communication syntax makes it possible to consider its implementation in the structure of expression in a new way. The main task of the inserted text is to display multifaceted message in relation to the base sentence. Based on the semantic connection between the insertion and the base accompanying and co-positional types of relations can be distinguished. Accompanying relations reflect a linear combination of the main sentence and insertion, that is, their connection is causal: the basis serves in this case as the original phenomenon for creation inserted text. The purpose of such structural formations is more effective conveying certain information, actively influencing the recipient. At accompanying relations, the inserted text most often conveys a comment, gives explanation about the main clause. In case of co-positional relations, the inserted text transmits conserning the base information that arose spontaneously, unplanned and contains side remarks, certain associations. Co-position can be both spatial and material, and temporal, that is, insertion conveys messages about the basis that are spatially contiguous, or in time. The main task of this type of relations between the main clause and inserted text – to make the presentation of the material livelier, emotionally more accessible. Inserted text in juxtaposition can be important for understanding information in a basic sentence, and sometimes more essential than the main message. For the formation of accompanying and co-positional types of relation as well sometimes such means are used as: 1) repetition; 2) indicative replacement words (he, this, here, here, when, etc.); 3) a combination of different means, including repetition lexemes and indicative replacement words. So, the connection of the inserted text and the basic sentence involves two types semantic relations: 1) accompanying (insertion in terms of content in full depend on the basis and are subordinate to it, that is, they are characterized by chain unity); 2) co-positional (the main sentence and the inserted component are semantically different messages characterized by thematic unity).
