THE ART OF TRANSLATION AS A MEANS OF PRESERVING CULTURAL NUANCES IN THE PROCESS OF TRANSLATION ACTIVITY

Abstract

The presented article outlines an extremely important problem in philological science, namely the implementation of adequate translation in order to preserve cultural aspects in the process of translation activity. In the course of our research, the authors of the article considered and determined the role of context in translation and its influence on the transmission of cultural nuances. The authors of the article analyzed a number of problems that translators face when preserving cultural features in the process of translation, and proposed strategies based on recent research to overcome these difficulties in preserving cultural features. A number of possible situations are presented in which it is necessary to use the aspect of adaptation and localization, namely: to translate jokes, play on words, cultural customs and traditions. Examples are given and analysis of various approaches to adaptation and localization in the context of preservation of cultural features is carried out. The authors of the article provided possible practical advice on including cultural information in the translation process and using this information to convey cultural nuances. The importance of knowledge of culture for high-quality translation and perception of the text in the target culture is considered. The authors of the article outlined an overview of modern technological tools, which in the process of translation can be a necessary tool for preserving cultural nuances. Ultimately, preserving cultural nuances in translation is a challenging task, but with adequate strategies and approaches, translators can successfully convey the original meaning and features of the original. Acquaintance with the latest research and the use of relevant literature allow translators to expand their knowledge and skills in the field. This makes for a more accurate and efficient translation that preserves the cultural nuances and richness of the original text.
