The article focuses on the analysis of the comic effect in Turkish-language animated discourse based on contemporary animated series aimed at child and adolescent audiences. The study examines pragmatic mechanisms of humor creation that emerge through mismatches between viewers’ expectations and situational development, between verbal utterances and non-verbal behavior of characters, as well as between social norms and their intentional violation. Particular attention is paid to linguistic means of comic expression, including wordplay, irony, exaggeration, absurd statements, transformations of set expressions, and culturally marked vocabulary, which interact with kinesic, proxemic, and intonational components. The research highlights the significance of cultural context and everyday realities in shaping the comic effect, ensuring the recognizability and accessibility of humorous situations for the target audience. It is demonstrated that humor in Turkish animation combines universal comic patterns with nationally specific elements, such as references to daily life, traditions, social roles, and culturally embedded communicative practices. The analysis confirms that comic effect in animated discourse serves not only an entertaining purpose but also fulfills social, communicative, and educational functions by promoting value orientations, behavioral models, and cultural identity. The findings emphasize the role of animation as an effective medium for transmitting culturally relevant meanings through humor and pragmatic interaction of verbal and non-verbal elements. The practical value of the study lies in the possibility of applying the obtained results in courses on pragmatics, intercultural communication, translation studies and teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The materials of cartoon series can be used as authentic examples for the analysis of humor, speech strategies and cultural codes. In addition, the results of the study can be useful for media linguistics and the development of educational content focused on the development of communicative competence through humorous discourse; in further studies on linguopragmatics, discourse studies, media linguistics, as well as in the practice of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, the analysis of audiovisual texts and intercultural communication
